Our customer has an immediate need for a Director of Applications to join their team. This is an FTE role. The client would like this person to be based in the Tampa, FL area as the client is relocating their to Tampa This person will help drive and lead their application development space. This is a small company that has major growth plans so looking for someone who is comfortable in working in start-up mentality environment and has experience leading, growing teams and driving culture growth. From a cultural perspective looking to help make team more innovative and invested in the success of the products and each other. Would like to see this person create a culture of put architectural verification systems in place, create programs for recognition of work well done or complete above and beyond. There is also opportunity to create programs so the teams can become cross trained. They need someone who can verify that what they are doing and the way they are doing it is the right way. For the initial 3-6 months some areas where focus is required are: Identify capacity and caliber of engineering team, Get the ticket backlog down, Ensuring clients Global Payment and Trizetto integration is running correctly. Oversee upgrades to current versions, SQL, my SQL, Linux, etc.. Review company's tech stack and hep building outr road map for future solution. There are many projects in flight so will need someone that can jump in and has the ability to prioritize projects. Individual needs strong communication/leadership skills and has the ability to communicate the top projects, and ensure the tech team can focus and drive on these projects (5 to 7 projects initially). Once those are moving, introduce another project. Today the problem with the current team that they can't see the forest from the trees. The client needs a Director of Development that has taken an organizational with technical challenges and has sorted it out over the course of a year or two. Most important skills/experience needed walking in the door: - Cross department collaboration - ability not only to meet but to drive issue resolution to completion - Ability to build team both onshore and off shore o Understands the cultural aspects on the off shore location with regards to project management o Achieving a high engagement with the team o Experience with managing off shore teams no just projects - Having high emotional intelligence, often referred to as a high EQ, involves understanding and managing your own emotions, as well as understanding and responding effectively to the emotions of others. Individuals with high EQ exhibit traits like self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and strong social skills. They are adept at navigating social situations, building relationships, and effectively communicating their ideas and feelings. o Good communicators: They can express themselves clearly and understand others' perspectives. o Effective problem-solvers: They can identify and resolve conflicts constructively. o Strong leaders: They can motivate and influence others towards a common goal. o Resilient: They can bounce back from setbacks and learn from mistakes. o Positive and optimistic: They tend to view challenges as opportunities for growth. - Ability to attract and retain top talent, while being able to effectively evaluate current IT teams to ensure they have top talent within the organization and comfortable removing team members who are not performing/right fit for the organization. .
