Backend Go Engineer

We are seeking a Backend Go Engineer with a passion for building scalable systems and a strong interest in cloud technologies and digital video streaming. The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in software engineering, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is eager to contribute to a high-performance media delivery pipeline.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and support live and linear video streaming pipelines using a combination of in-house and third-party tools.


• Optimize video encoding, packaging, and delivery for high-quality performance and reliability.


• Provide technical support for live events and ongoing linear channel operations.


• Collaborate with Product Owners to translate requirements and specifications into robust technical solutions that deliver premium audio and video experiences.


• Manage and maintain cloud-based content delivery infrastructure and services.


• Participate in Agile development processes and continuously improve workflows, deployment practices, and system performance.


• Contribute to system architecture discussions and adopt best practices in distributed systems and CI/CD deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).


• 3+ years of software development experience with strong proficiency in GoLang, Node.js, TypeScript, React, or similar technologies.


• Experience building real-time, low-latency, large-scale distributed systems.


• Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles and software architecture patterns.


• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, especially AWS.


• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), and Agile/Scrum methodologies.


• Comfortable working with open-source technologies.

Preferred

• Experience in digital video workflows, operations, and technology development.


• Knowledge of playback protocols such as DASH, CMAF, and HLS.


• Understanding of server-side ad insertion (SSAI), transcoding, and video packaging workflows.


• Familiarity with OTT video delivery pipelines, including source origination, video ingest, encoding, encryption, DRM, and networking fundamentals.

Additional Details

The base range for this contract position is $65 - $75 /per hour depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
