Position Overview:

Certified Technical Experts, Inc. (CTE) is seeking a skilled and motivated Software Developer with experience in FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources), C#, and/or Java to join our dynamic team. This remote role will support the development, integration, and maintenance of healthcare-related applications in an Agile environment.

As a key contributor, you ll help build and support scalable, interoperable systems and tools that interface with enterprise health systems and third-party solutions. This position requires technical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a strong desire to grow and support mission-driven healthcare IT projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build integration solutions to connect third-party data with client applications using standardized formats.
  • Develop secure, scalable backend services and APIs that enable interoperability across enterprise health IT systems.
  • Maintain and support FHIR-based VRDR API software libraries.
  • Write, test, debug, and maintain software applications using Agile development practices.
  • Contribute to architecture and design discussions to ensure quality and scalability.
  • Assist clients in building, testing, and debugging solutions and test cases.
  • Evaluate compatibility of applications with existing hardware/software environments.
  • Analyze issues and recommend fixes using defined procedures and best practices.
  • Participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts across systems and development processes.
  • Communicate directly with users and stakeholders to troubleshoot technical issues, gather feedback, and provide timely resolutions.
  • Support end-users with training, guidance, and technical documentation when needed.

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and at least 2 years of professional software development experience; OR High School diploma/GED with 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in C# development including testing frameworks.
  • 1+ year of experience with React.js or similar front-end frameworks.
  • Experience developing RESTful APIs and backend services.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Proficiency with GitHub and source control best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • Understanding of SDLC, microservices architecture, and backend/frontend integration.
  • Willingness to learn FHIR standards.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Willing to travel up to 10% for business purposes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with FHIR/HL7 standards.
  • Familiarity with Java and Azure cloud platforms.
  • Experience working with CLI tools and single-page applications (SPAs).
  • Exposure to enterprise healthcare data environments.
