Position Overview:
Certified Technical Experts, Inc. (CTE) is seeking a skilled and motivated Software Developer with experience in FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources), C#, and/or Java to join our dynamic team. This remote role will support the development, integration, and maintenance of healthcare-related applications in an Agile environment.
As a key contributor, you ll help build and support scalable, interoperable systems and tools that interface with enterprise health systems and third-party solutions. This position requires technical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a strong desire to grow and support mission-driven healthcare IT projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and build integration solutions to connect third-party data with client applications using standardized formats.
- Develop secure, scalable backend services and APIs that enable interoperability across enterprise health IT systems.
- Maintain and support FHIR-based VRDR API software libraries.
- Write, test, debug, and maintain software applications using Agile development practices.
- Contribute to architecture and design discussions to ensure quality and scalability.
- Assist clients in building, testing, and debugging solutions and test cases.
- Evaluate compatibility of applications with existing hardware/software environments.
- Analyze issues and recommend fixes using defined procedures and best practices.
- Participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts across systems and development processes.
- Communicate directly with users and stakeholders to troubleshoot technical issues, gather feedback, and provide timely resolutions.
- Support end-users with training, guidance, and technical documentation when needed.
Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and at least 2 years of professional software development experience; OR High School diploma/GED with 3+ years of relevant experience.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in C# development including testing frameworks.
- 1+ year of experience with React.js or similar front-end frameworks.
- Experience developing RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Proficiency with GitHub and source control best practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Understanding of SDLC, microservices architecture, and backend/frontend integration.
- Willingness to learn FHIR standards.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Willing to travel up to 10% for business purposes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with FHIR/HL7 standards.
- Familiarity with Java and Azure cloud platforms.
- Experience working with CLI tools and single-page applications (SPAs).
- Exposure to enterprise healthcare data environments.
