Location: REMOTE

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Power BI Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead the design, development, and deployment of client-facing dashboards in the government savings sector. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Power BI front-end development and back-end architecture, including data transformations, data modeling, and secure connectivity to on-premises Oracle databases.

Key Responsibilities:

Dashboard Development:

Design, build, and optimize interactive and responsive Power BI dashboards.

Work with stakeholders to define KPIs and visualization needs for 20 initial government-sector clients.

Back-End Data Integration:

Configure Power BI Gateways for secure access to on-premise Oracle data.

Develop robust data models using Power BI Desktop and Power Query (M language).

Data Transformation & Modeling:

Perform complex data transformations using Power Query and DAX.

Normalize and cleanse raw financial data to support accurate reporting.

ETL Process Management:

Define and manage transformation logic and pipeline flows.

Create reusable queries and dataflows across clients to reduce duplication and ensure consistency.

System & Architecture Knowledge:

Understand Power BI service architecture, including workspaces, datasets, dataflows, and shared datasets.

Optimize data refresh schedules and manage large dataset performance.

Client Onboarding & Customization:

Customize dashboards and KPIs based on specific client needs.

Assist in the onboarding of 20 initial clients with varying financial data profiles.

Governance & Security:

Implement role-level security (RLS) and other governance controls for secure data access.

Adhere to data privacy requirements in government financial services.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of Power BI development experience with both frontend and backend responsibilities.
• Strong proficiency in Power Query (M), DAX, and data modeling best practices.
• Deep understanding of Power BI Service and Gateway configuration.
• Experience integrating with on-prem Oracle databases using DirectQuery or import methods.
• Financial services
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
