Role Overview


This position focuses on data center design and engineering within the facilities team. The role involves designing, break-fix support, and structured fiber trunk cable design in collaboration with internal and external partners.

  • Team Size: Approximately 11 24 members across multiple disciplines

Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with vendors and suppliers (QTS, Digital Realty, DataBank) to coordinate power and cabling needs, and manage procurement of copper and fiber.
  2. Work with internal network and deployment teams to define connectivity requirements.
  3. Oversee full cabinet deployments, including:
    • Installation, maintenance, and support of data center infrastructure (structured cabling, servers, and networking hardware).
    • Removal of decommissioned assets and performing cable cleanup.
    • Maintaining accurate inventory and asset management records.
    • Ensuring adherence to cabling and labeling standards.

Required Technical Skills

  • Installation, removal, and maintenance of servers, cabling, and network equipment.
  • Hands-on experience with fiber optic technologies and structured cabling (testing and remediation).
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot hardware and Layer 1 connectivity issues.
  • Solid understanding of rack power and connectivity requirements.
  • Familiarity with enterprise data center operations and support.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.

Preferred / Flex Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience using ticketing systems such as Jira or ServiceNow.
  • Familiarity with Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) tools.
