Senior IIB / Java Developer

Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Programmer Analyst to join our team in Columbus, Ohio. In this long-term contract role, you will contribute to the development of enterprise-grade APIs and production infrastructure, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability. You will work closely with a team of engineers and architects to deliver innovative software solutions while employing modern technologies and agile methodologies.

Work Location: 100% Remote (Preference for candidates local to Columbus, OH)

Job Description

We are seeking high-capacity individuals to assist in building best-in-class Enterprise APIs and production infrastructure. Daily responsibilities may include:

Key Responsibilities

• Develop modern REST APIs using Java Spring Boot, CI/CD, and cloud/container services.
• Assist with system design, business analysis, server layout, disaster recovery planning, and production deployments.
• Contribute to software/data design including schema, storage efficiency, and API design.
• Deliver hands-on software solutions and server/data architecture.
• Work with Kafka for environment setup, enrichment, and transformation use cases.
• Implement API layers and integrate with CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate in agile teams working in 2-week sprints.
• Maintain and evolve integration assets and development processes.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Required Experience & Skills

• 5+ years in software development and application interfaces
• 1+ year with DevOps
• Strong Java development (Spring Framework, Eclipse, Maven, Gradle)
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases
• Agile methodology experience
• Strong collaboration, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to prioritize and thrive in dynamic environments

Preferred Experience

• REST, JSON, SOAP web interfaces
• CI/CD methodologies
• Deployment automation tools (Chef, Puppet)
• Git/GitHub, Jenkins, JUnit
• Kafka
• Cloud technologies
• MongoDB, DynamoDB, or other NoSQL databases
