Role: UX Researcher with Aquent
Location: San Jose, CA/Remote
Duration: 12+ Months
What you'll do:
Uncover user experience goals, needs, and priorities, and deliver actionable research that impacts solutions, coordinate multiple projects to completion, and drive adoption of user experience practices in the organization.
Run research studies from start to finish, including; developing a realistic research plan and materials, coordinating study launches, and analyzing & synthesizing data into actionable insights. (Studies might range from qualitative moderated in-depth inquiries or semi-structured interviews, to usability testing and analysis, to quantitative baseline and benchmarking studies, or large scale survey design depending on business goals)
Assess a project's scope, determine appropriate research and study questions, and identify appropriate methods, clearly communicating reasoning to the approach.
Advocate for employees by articulating research findings and product ideas through clear and insightful presentations and work directly with design and technical teams to realize the recommendations.
Proactively engage with multiple project stakeholders, including product managers, engineers, and designers to define research methodology.
Work with cross-functional partners to drive consensus across teams and advocate solutions that balance the needs of our users with our business goals, advocating for employees across Organization.
What you need to succeed:
You're an experienced researcher who has a passion for employee experiences, ensuring we support connection, reduce friction and understand & advocate for employees needs and ways of working.
Significant hands-on research experience, with at least some experience applying research in an industry setting.
Mastery in a broad range of mixed methods (qualitative and quantitative) research, their tradeoffs and best application of methods within time constraints, and ability to explain rationale for each method.
Ability to analyze insights and articulate recommendations that impact digital solutions.
An understanding of the technology development cycles and can time research to have maximum impact.
Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
Excellent collaboration & communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate a problem space, sometimes in various ways to meet the needs of different recipients.
Experience using remote research tools (like UserZoom, UserTesting, Maze, Miro etc.)
Flexible schedule to facilitate meetings across international time zones (crucially: spanning California to Europe time zones).
Additional skills which are of interest:
An advanced degree in psychology, human-computer interaction (HCI) anthropology, data science, cognitive science or a related field.
Familiarity with or interest in Information Technology (IT) services, enterprise technologies, SaaS or digital workplace platforms.
Experience working in or with technology services or IT organizations.
Familiarity working with any of the following tools would be helpful: AEM, Adobe Sign, Adobe Workfront, Microsoft Dynamics and Power Apps, ServiceNow, Jira
