AWS, Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer - Long Term Contract - Primarily Remote - B3945B

Our direct client is looking for AWS, Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer for a Primarily Remote Long Term Contract position in Harrisburg, PA.

Note:
- Full-time 40 hr/week
- Remote position (although ad hoc on-site reporting is possible so must be able to commute to Harrisburg area when needed).

JOB DESCRIPTION:
- We are seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our team.
- This role involves managing and maintaining hybrid infrastructure environments, with a strong focus on AWS (70%) and Azure (30%), as well as on-premises data centers.
- The ideal candidate will be proficient in Linux and Windows operating systems and possess a solid understanding of infrastructure automation, scalability, and security in cloud.

Responsibilities:
Cloud Infrastructure:
- Design, deploy, troubleshoot and manage AWS infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and cost optimization.
- Contribute to Azure cloud deployments and manage multi-cloud environments effectively.
- Implement and support hybrid-cloud solutions to bridge on-perm and cloud infrastructures.
- Complete understanding of network/ vpn /firewall / Security Groups and logging.
On-Premises Data Centers
- Support on-premises servers including troubleshooting network connectivity in a hybrid cloud environment.
- Should have a good knowledge of Active Directory.
- Develop strategies for disaster recovery and business continuity for on-perm systems to hybrid cloud.
Operating Systems:
- Manage Linux and Windows server environments, ensuring smooth operations and security compliance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve OS-level issues efficiently.
- Experience working with Windows Clustering and SQL.
Automation and Monitoring
- Develop automation scripts and tools for infrastructure provisioning and management.
- Implement proactive monitoring solutions to ensure system reliability and up time.
- Create detailed dashboard for monitoring.
Security and Compliance
- Configure and manage security groups, policies, and permissions in AWS and Azure environments.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
Collaboration and Documentation
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to support application and database needs.
- Document infrastructure processes, configurations, and incident resolutions comprehensively.

SKILL MATRIX:
- Proven experience managing AWS and Azure cloud environments - Required
- Strong knowledge of on-perm data center infrastructure - Required
- Expertise in Linux and Windows operating systems - Required
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, Powershell) - Required
- Familiarity with DevOps tools like Azure DevOps, Copilot, Terraform, Ansible or Jenkins is a plus - Required
- Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, etc.) - Required
- Relevant certifications (AWS CSA, Microsoft Certified Azure Admin, Architect) - Plus to have
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes) - Plus to have
- Knowledge of ITIL practices and principles - Required

Question 1: Position is expected to be fully remote, but there is a chance on-site reporting will be needed. Position reports to the CTC at 1 Technology Park. Is your candidate willing to report on-site if needed?
