DESKTOP ENGINEER

Desktop Engineer assists the Information Technology Infrastructure Team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing leading technical support that empowers our employees and keeps our business running efficiently.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for tracking reliability of desktop images by reviewing help desk tickets relating to hardware inquires.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining desktop/laptop images.
  • Proactive review and testing of OS and installed applications for patching vulnerabilities.
  • Installing and upgrading operating systems and computer software
  • Advising on software or hardware upgrades
  • Responsible for group policy design on desktops and laptops
  • Participates in desktop-related projects such as:
  • Desktop Refresh Project
  • Desktop Authority / App-v / Intune

 

Required Skills:

  • Three or more years of experience working in a Technology Helpdesk environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or related area) preferred. / Equivalent experience
  • Microsoft Certification (MCSE) or equivalent certification in relevant programs desired.
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows desktop Operating Systems (Windows 7, Windows 10 & Windows 11)
  • Group Policy design and configuration
  • Active Directory/LDAP user and group administration
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Flexible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Must be organized and able to manage projects of varying length.
  • Positive, self-motivated individual who can complete tasks independently.
  • SCCM knowledge is a plus
  • Must be a team player
