This individual will play a key role in designing scalable, secure, and efficient ServiceNow solutions while also leading development efforts across various modules and integrations.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of experience in enterprise IT, with 5+ years focused on ServiceNow development and hands-on exposure to platform architecture, governance, and best practices. This is a high-impact role requiring both deep technical expertise and the ability to collaborate effectively with IT leadership, business stakeholders, and other architects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex ServiceNow solutions across the platform.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for the ServiceNow platform, advising on architectural decisions, governance, and long-term scalability.
  • Develop and maintain custom applications, workflows, integrations, and automation using ServiceNow best practices.
  • Drive platform enhancements in alignment with business goals and compliance standards specific to public sector environments.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical designs and actionable development tasks.
  • Integrate ServiceNow with third-party systems and tools using REST, SOAP, MID Servers, and Integration Hub.
  • Establish and maintain development standards, code repositories, and documentation for ongoing support.
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to overall platform maturity and knowledge-sharing.
  • Stay current with new ServiceNow releases and evaluate opportunities to leverage new capabilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of overall experience in enterprise IT environments, including application development and system integration.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow development, including scripting, configuration, and custom application development.
  • Proven experience contributing to or leading platform architecture and strategic design initiatives.
  • Proven experience leveraging the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) across the platform to capture technical and business environments.
  • Ability to collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to define and govern the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, Glide API, Flow Designer, Service Portal, and UI/UX customization.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL practices and experience working within Agile/Scrum teams.
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) required.
  • At least one advanced certification (e.g., Certified Application Developer, Implementation Specialist, or Certified Technical Architect).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on state or local government IT projects or regulated public sector environments.
  • Familiarity with data security, accessibility, and compliance standards applicable to government systems (e.g., FedRAMP, HIPAA, CJIS).
  • Experience leading teams or serving as a technical lead across enterprise ServiceNow initiatives.
