Job Title: Construction Engineer

Location: Walnut Creek, Ca (Hybrid - Additional Locations: Sacramento, or Trimble Campus)

Duration: Long Term Contract

About the role:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Engineer for a contract position on our Macro Modifications team. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in the wireless telecommunications industry and be responsible for managing a variety of network infrastructure projects, including critical C-Band modifications and our upcoming FD-MIMO deployments. This role involves overseeing construction activities, managing project financials, ensuring vendor compliance with major tower companies, and validating the quality of work through closeout package reviews. You will be a key contributor to our team, ensuring that macro site upgrades are completed on schedule and to carrier standards.

Responsibilities:

Manage construction activities and vendors related to multiple, simultaneous Macro network modification projects, including nationwide C-Band upgrades, upcoming FD-MIMO deployments, and modifications involving Basebands, Routers, and Siteboss equipment.

Provide financial management of projects from initial proposal through receipt of final service, including the tracking and reporting for your assigned Purchase Orders (POs).

Oversee and drive construction-related compliance resolutions with major tower companies, specifically ATC and Crown Castle.

Conduct daily and weekly upward reporting on project status, timelines, and financial health.

Review construction closeout packages (COPs) for accuracy and completeness, ensuring they meet Verizon and general telecom industry standards for builds.

Must have a strong attention to detail, a sense of urgency, and the technical aptitude with computers to navigate internal tools effectively.

Must Have Skills (Most Important):

Wireless Construction Management (5-7 years): Proven experience managing construction and modification projects on macro cell sites. Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Vendor & Tower Co. Compliance (3+ years): Experience managing construction vendors and resolving compliance issues directly with major tower companies like Crown Castle and American Tower (ATC).

Project Financial Management (3+ years): Experience managing project-level finances, specifically creating, tracking, and reporting on Purchase Orders (POs).

Desired skills:

Direct experience using internal telecom project management systems such as Fuze and ESA.

Specific knowledge of Verizon construction standards and specifications.

Direct project experience with C-Band and/or FD-MIMO modification projects.

Familiarity with the physical installation requirements for Basebands, Routers, and Siteboss monitoring equipment.

Education/certifications:

No formal education degree is required. Relevant work experience is prioritized.
