Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Data Engineer in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The role involves working on data architectures with a focus on Snowflake, Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes, Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), and general cloud architecture to support our data-driven initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Design and implement scalable and efficient data architecture solutions on Snowflake and Google Cloud Platform

Act as the subject matter expert in Snowflake architecture, design, and implementation, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security of the data warehouse environment

Lead the integration efforts of Google Cloud Platform services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, and Pub/Sub within the broader data ecosystem, facilitating seamless data flow and interoperability

Oversee the selection, implementation, and optimization of ETL tools, ensuring efficient data ingestion, transformation, and delivery processes

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions

Test and evaluate tools and technologies, and recommend solutions for data management, storage, and processing

Continuously monitor and fine-tune the data architecture for optimal performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness, leveraging advanced techniques and tools

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members

Utilize skills in Apache Spark, Database, EO/IR systems, Erwin Data, HDFS, AB Testing, Analytics, Business Intelligence (BI), Business Requirement Document, SSIS ETL, Snowflake.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Data Engineer or in a similar role
Proficiency in Apache Spark and HDFS
Extensive experience with databases and data warehousing solutions
Familiarity with EO/IR systems
Knowledge of Erwin Data modeling tools
Experience in AB Testing and analytics
Strong understanding of Business Intelligence (BI) tools and techniques
Ability to draft and comprehend Business Requirement Documents
Experience with SSIS ETL tools
Familiarity with Snowflake data warehousing platform
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
