Job Details
We are seeking an experienced Data Center Operations Lead to oversee day-to-day operations, manage infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments, and lead a team of data center engineers. This role requires strong hands-on expertise in data center management, virtualization, storage, backups, Windows/Linux administration, automation, and cloud technologies (Azure & AWS). Candidates must have a proven track record leading complex data center environments and ensuring high availability, security, and operational excellence.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years in data center operations; 5+ years in a lead or senior role.
- Strong hands-on expertise in:
- Data center operations (racking/stacking, migrations, hardware mgmt)
- VMware ESXi / VxRail
- Windows & Linux Administration
- Active Directory & Azure AD
- Pure Storage, EMC, NetApp
- Cohesity, Veeam, Data Domain
- Monitoring tools: LogicMonitor, SolarWinds, Zenoss, Moogsoft
- Scripting: Python, Bash, PowerShell
- Automation: Ansible, Terraform
- Cloud: Azure (required), AWS (preferred)
- Experience managing incidents, DR/BCP, capacity planning, and vendor coordination.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead data center operations, incident management, escalations, and on-site support.
- Manage end-to-end infrastructure: VMware/ESXi, VxRail, Windows/Linux servers, AD/Azure AD, networking, storage, and backup systems.
- Oversee racking, stacking, migrations, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
- Administer and troubleshoot Pure Storage, EMC, NetApp, and backup platforms such as Cohesity, Veeam, Data Domain.
- Manage Active Directory, GPOs, SSO, domain controllers, and identity/security configurations.
- Support monitoring tools including LogicMonitor, Zenoss, SolarWinds, Moogsoft.
- Drive automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell, and tools like Ansible & Terraform.
- Support hybrid cloud environments: Azure compute, storage, networking, backups, and AWS basics.
- Ensure compliance, documentation, DR/BCP readiness, and vendor coordination.
- Mentor and guide the operations team, ensuring adherence to best practices and SLAs.
