The City of Tallahassee is seeking a skilled and motivated Server Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to hit the ground running. You'll be part of a collaborative team of six, supporting critical infrastructure and services across the city.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on support and maintenance for Dell servers running VMware.
- Manage and support Microsoft Outlook and virtual customer environments.
- Administer and troubleshoot NetScaler systems.
- Assist in documenting IT policies and procedures.
- Support a primarily Windows-based environment, with occasional work on Linux servers.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure system reliability, performance, and scalability.
- Contribute to team leadership and mentoring if prior lead experience is applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven experience with Windows Server administration.
- Strong proficiency in VMware virtualization technologies.
- Familiarity with Linux systems (basic support level).
- Experience managing Outlook and virtual desktop environments.
- Hands-on experience with NetScaler (required).
- Exposure to AWS or Azure cloud platforms is a plus (training available if needed).
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- Prior team lead or supervisory experience is a differentiator.
