Akkodis is seeking a Developer for a Contract with a client in Richardson, TX/Chicago, IL. Candidates must have expert-level proficiency in COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, CICS, and IMS to be considered for this position.
Rate Range: $45/hour to $52/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Developer job responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, CICS, and IMS.
- Optimize batch and online processing systems, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Utilize mainframe utilities and debugging tools to identify and resolve system issues efficiently.
- Integrate legacy systems with modern platforms and APIs, supporting digital transformation initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile or Waterfall methodologies to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Contribute to system architecture and workflow design, focusing on data structure optimization and performance tuning.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 6-8 years of hands-on experience in mainframe development and support.
- Expert-level proficiency in COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, CICS, and IMS.
- Proven experience integrating mainframe systems with modern platforms and APIs, along with strong debugging and performance tuning skills.
