Job Title: Image Processing Engineer II

Location: On-site at Sullivan Park in Corning, NY

Duration: 6 months, possible extension

Max bill rate: $55/Hr on W2

Education: Minimum BS Computer Science/Engineering, Software Engineering, or related STEM field

Minimum Experience: 3+ Years

Brief Summary of the Role:

Investigation-oriented image processing develop an algorithm to extract specify feature(s) from a set of images. Then, study the consistency or inconsistency of extracted feature(s) throughout these images to obtain important information about a process.

Requirements:

  • Must have demonstrated experience with developing algorithms to extract and/or track feature(s) from a set of images
  • Works under general direction with defined objectives.
  • High competence and experience with MATLAB
    • Ideally familiar with the following toolboxes, parallel processing, image processing, curve fitting, signal processing
  • Ability to debug and error log custom software
  • Good knowledge of statistics including higher order moments, correlation methods
  • Have written substantive data processing software with multiple levels of sub routines
  • Familiar with handling large data sets (Giga to Terabytes) within computer space
  • Requires thorough understanding and application of standard engineering or scientific theories, concepts, principles, and techniques.
  • Requires the ability to develop and resolve solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.
  • Works under general direction with defined objectives.
  • Approach is consistent with established procedures.
  • Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment and overall adequacy.
  • Contacts are primarily internal and may be outside of the immediate work group or organization.
  • Rather infrequent external contacts.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Organize and maintain the code library
  • Develop new image processing algorithm

Travel Requirements:

  • Minimal travel (less than 5%)
  • Travel to a site may be required for software deployment.

Work Schedule: Typical 40 hours per week.
