Job Details

An American electric vehicle manufacturing company is actively looking for a self-motivated Sustaining Reliability Engineering Technician to join their team. This is a 6-month CT role with potential for extension or conversion. It is 100% onsite at their Normal, Illinois location and is Monday-Friday, Saturdays when needed, 6am-8pm, minimum 10 hour days with a 1 hour nonbillable lunch. Standard 55 hours per week.

As a Sustaining Reliability Engineer Technician you'll work with the Sustaining Reliability Team to build, maintain, and operate laboratories for testing electrified powertrain systems, electric vehicle systems and component reliability. Required Skills & Experience
  • Work collaboratively with test engineers to install, configure, and maintain test properties across a variety of complex powertrain test equipment
  • Proactively complete highest priority tasks by scheduled due dates while tests are ongoing
  • Develop a clean, organized, and efficient working environment
  • Must pass a MVR
  • Be willing to work overtime hours
What You Will Be Doing Daily Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with test engineers to install, configure, and maintain test properties across a variety of complex powertrain test equipment
  • Execute tests effectively that results in minimal test equipment downtime
  • Troubleshoot test failures and report findings to test engineers
  • Proactively complete highest priority tasks by scheduled due dates while tests are ongoing
  • Disassemble/reassemble production and prototype hardware
  • Provide guidance to engineers
  • Create electronic standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Train other team members to perform procedures in standardized format
  • Perform routine maintenance on test equipment
  • Develop and maintain a clean, organized, and efficient working environment
