Job Description:

Apex Systems is looking to hire an ONSITE Business Architect for our client based out of Greensboro, NC.

This assignment is anticipated to be a --12 month contract with strong potential for extension; however, Apex Systems cannot guarantee the length of this assignment.

This will also have a first shift Monday-Friday schedule.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a structured business architecture framework using BIZBOK or TOGAF principles, including offerings, operational models, value delivery processes, and organizational capabilities.
  • Map business capabilities and define initiative goals, scope, and value propositions in alignment with enterprise strategy.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to guide strategic decisions and articulate the changes needed to reach target business states.
  • Translate complex business concepts into actionable strategies using enterprise architecture modeling tools.
  • Promote shared understanding across departments and serve as a strategic liaison between business and architecture teams.
  • Participate in governance to ensure consistency with enterprise design standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Apply creative problem-solving and Design Thinking methodologies to support transformation and deliver measurable business value.
  • Mentor team members and contribute to a collaborative, globally distributed architecture team.


Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Business Architect or in a similar role, ideally within the finance or automotive sector.
  • Proven experience in mapping business capabilities and applying BIZBOK or TOGAF frameworks.
  • Strong listening skills and a collaborative mindset, focused on enabling the business rather than pushing solutions.
  • Ability to articulate business change needs and guide stakeholders toward target states.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable strategies.
  • Proficiency in enterprise architecture modeling tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Business Architecture Guild certification.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards in the finance industry.
  • Experience with Design Thinking and creative problem-solving.
  • Ability to mentor others and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Global experience and cross-cultural communication skills.
