KORE1, a nationwide provider of staffing and recruiting solutions, has an immediate opening for a Continuous Improvement Engineer: Just-in-time manufacturing Lean Six Sigma (DMAIC, A3), SMED, RISE, Cellular Flow, etc. of their castings business.
Under the general direction of Director, Continuous Improvement, leads the continuous improvement effort in the Investment Casting business, supporting the aerospace, automotive and industrial business markets, includes facilitating cross-functional teams utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles will improve turnaround times, Velocity, TOC practices and reduce costs. Projects are moderately complex and not limited in scope, depth, problem solving, and degree of skill required.
Prime Responsibilities and Major Factors in Evaluating Performance:
  • Work in collaboration with site leadership to identify and improve those areas most important to the site and company.
  • Assists in the development of new processes and trains team members.
  • Assists in the development improvement strategies, deploys, and manages same.
  • Coordinate, lead and execute improvement projects and initiatives to achieve business needs and objectives.

    Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Material Science required
    • Aerospace or Automotive manufacturing experience is preferred.
    • Relevant certifications / training are a plus (Six Sigma, etc.)
    • 5+ years of continuous improvement experience specific to high volume / just-in-time manufacturing environments for 24/7 operations.
    • Experience should include:
      • Ability to engage others in facilitate consensus, obtain buy-in of senior leadership and drive for successful adoption of change initiatives.
      • A track record of continuous improvement efforts with proven successful sustained outcomes including leading lean maturity assessments
      • Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma including successful deployment of Lean and Six Sigma (DMAIC, A3, root cause analysis), including Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen facilitation, Process Flow Mapping, Kanban, Hoshin, Visual Controls, Cellular Flow (waste reduction), Single-Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED), RISE, etc.
      • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience utilizing strong analytical skills including statistical methods, financial analysis, or engineering modeling and analysis.
        • Strong Excel skills required
        • Strong PowerPoint skills needed
        • MiniTab skills needed
        • Experience Power BI, Tableau or another visualization tool is a plus.
    • Good interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
    Compensation depends on experience but is typically $120-125K plus 9% profit sharing based bonus (with a multiplier). However, we are willing to send qualified candidates over-budget.
