*This is a 6 month contract to hire role that sits onsite 5 days a week in Greenburg, NY. This persons needs prior network support experience**
Description
Each district is comprised of a team of junior network specialist and network specialist who contribute to the software and hardware troubleshooting of equipment which includes but is not limited to: Chromebooks, PCs, Windows Devices, Smart Boards, iPads, and various other classroom technologies. Having prior experience troubleshooting classroom technologies is a plus. This candidate will report to a Managed Information Technology team lead who supports the district and its staff members. In addition to having strong technical skills and foundational IT knowledge, candidates will need to have excellent communication and inter-personal skills. The environment will require this person to work well with end users of the school district as well as district executives such as the Director of Technology
This individual will be responsible for various hardware and software troubleshooting within a windows environment. A portion of this role will be to support classroom technologies such as chrome books, projectors, smart boards, etc. This candidate will need to have a strong Desktop Support as well as general knowledge of Network Principals. For example, this candidate will need to be able to troubleshoot over a network or any network related concerns. Familiarity with IP addresses as well as Cisco Routers and Switches. This candidate will need to be comfortable with Active Directory especially adding and deleting users. In addition to having strong technical skills, they will need to have excellent communication and inter-personal skills in order to work well with the faculty and staff of the schools.
The following experience is strongly encouraged for this assignment:
-Proficient in Windows XP/Windows 7
-Experience with VMware/server virtualization
-Ability to install network operation systems and perform simple upgrades to the network
-Able to troubleshoot network systems
-Have advanced knowledge on troubleshooting desktop systems
-Have advanced configuration and management of windows software
-Configure and manage network based user profiles (Active Directory or other Directory Service tools)
-General network experience with printers/routers/adding users/grouping
-Server Hardware configuration
-Manage switch configuration and troubleshooting
-Implementation of patch implementations of individual NOS
-LAN/WAN experience
-Basic knowledge and support of SAN environments
-Support of virtual server environment
-Advance knowledge of troubleshooting email
-Advanced knowledge of workstation setup and installs.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
