What We're Doing
Become a part of something IMPACT-ful! Ground Missile Defense (GMD) is the heart of the Missile Defense System and a key element of our nation's defense against ballistic missile attacks.
The GMD Weapon System (GWS) processes data from multiple sensors to identify and characterize the inbound ballistic missile threat, plans the best defensive solution, and launches the intercepting missiles to negate the threat.
The Work
What you'll get to do:
-Provide automation configuration with tools like Ansible to automate build and configuration processes
-Develop Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) process and tools, deployment strategies
-Build and deploy containers and containerization technologies
- Enable and lead Agile management and collaboration, leveraging tools such as Jira, Confluence, and GitLab
- Learn new technologies and tools to enable rapid and secure, scalable capability
- Develop and maintain automation scripts in Python

Basic Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship with an Active Secret clearance
Bachelors degree in a STEM related field, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree; or 4 years of professional experience required with a related PhD.
Must have a DOD 8570 IAT Level II certification (ex: Security + CE)
Experience working with cloud technologies and platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud
Experience with Agile practices and principles to deliver high quality products and services
Communicates effectively, both internally and externally to team
Eager to expand knowledge and continually improve
Ability to write or review software code (Java, Python, etc.)
Exposure to DevSecOps practices
Must be able to support an in-person, closed-area work environment 100% of the time
Desired skills
Deploying and maintaining applications on Kubernetes clusters
Proficient with PaaS (Platform as a Service) infrastructure
Proficient with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
Proficient with Atlassian JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins, and Nexus repositories
Proficient with configuration management tools, i.e., Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, others.
Proficient with branching strategies, gated commits and source-controlled management
Proficient Programming and scripting experience in a UNIX environment (C++, Perl, Python, Bash, Ruby, Shell, Scripts).
Proficient Programming and scripting experience in a Windows environment (PowerShell, etc.)
Proficient with IaaS (Infrastructure as Code) scripts in Terraform and Helm to provision cloud resources

Work Schedule Information

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $113,900 - $200,905. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays.
