SAP IBP Requirements

Position 1.) SAP IBP IO (Inventory Optimization) Lead/Architect

Role Overview:

• Travel- At least 10-12 day/month would be the expectation of client.
• Contract/FTE- 6 months to start with possible extension

Client Location - Glen Mills, PA

• The SAP IBP IO Lead/Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) solutions with a strong focus on the Inventory Optimization (IO) with knowledge of R&S module. This role combines deep technical expertise with strong business process knowledge to deliver advanced supply chain planning capabilities that drive inventory efficiency, service level improvements, and cost reduction.
• The ideal candidate will have extensive hands on experience in SAP IBP architecture, configuration, integration with S/4HANA or ECC, and strong knowledge of supply chain planning processes (inventory, demand, supply, and S&OP).

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and architecture of SAP IBP-IO solutions aligned with business objectives. Determine success criteria
• Define and maintain the solution architecture, data flows, and integration points with SAP ECC/S4HANA, APO, or non-SAP systems.
• Configure and implement SAP IBP Inventory Optimization models (e.g., safety stock calculation, multi-echelon inventory optimization).
• Set up key figures, planning areas, master data, and planning operators relevant to IO.
• Optimize algorithms and parameters to balance inventory levels, service targets, and cost objectives.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, process owners, and IT teams to translate business requirements into functional and technical designs.
• Conduct workshops and training sessions for key users and planners.
• Travel to various client slides to work with planners .

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor s degree in Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• 12- 15 years years of experience in SAP Supply Chain Planning solutions.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with SAP IBP, with at least 2 Implementations focused on Inventory Optimization (IO).
• Experience integrating SAP IBP with S/4HANA, ECC, or non-SAP ERP systems using CPI-DS or other middleware tools.
• Familiarity with SAP Best Practices for IBP and Supply Chain Planning KPIs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

# Position 2.) SAP IBP Lead

Client location: Bay Area, California

• Current phase of the project: Phase 1 (8 10 weeks); Phase 2 (20+ weeks)
• Required travel: 30 40% on-site travel required
• Years of experience: 12 15 years

Job Profile: Senior Lead / Solution Architect SAP IBP Response and Supply (S/4HANA MM & PP)

Overview

• We are looking for an accomplished SAP IBP Response and Supply expert with strong functional knowledge of S/4HANA MM (Materials Management) and PP (Production Planning) to join our consulting team.
• OBP is part of Response & Supply (R&S) and is not a separate module.
• Within R&S, planning can be either Time series based or Order-Based (OBP).
• For our requirement, we need candidates with OBP experience, not Time Series.
• The ideal candidate brings 12 15 years of end-to-end SAP Supply Chain experience, including hands-on configuration, solution design, and client leadership across global transformation programs. This role is suited for a professional who can bridge business strategy, technology design, and execution excellence, driving measurable value for clients in complex supply chain environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end SAP IBP Response and Supply implementations, including blueprinting, configuration, integration, and deployment.
• Conduct process and data assessment, gap analysis , solution design workshops with client stakeholders to define supply planning, response, and order-based planning (OBP) processes aligned to business goals.
• Perform hands-on configuration of:
• Supply planning heuristics and optimizer
• Order-based planning and pegging rules
• Supply propagation and response planning scenarios
• Deployment and TLB
• Key figure modeling and planning area extensions
• Guide Integration with S/4HANA through SDI/CPI and OData interfaces
• Ensure seamless integration between IBP and S/4HANA (MM, PP, SD) for end-to-end supply visibility and execution.
• Drive fit-gap analysis, develop solution blueprints, and deliver functional specifications for custom developments.
• Partner with technical teams to validate data flows, performance, and exception handling.
• Provide thought leadership and guide clients on SAP best practices, roadmap alignment, and capability adoption.
• Oversee and mentor consulting teams; support delivery governance, quality reviews, and issue resolution.
• Contribute to business development through client proposals, demos, and solution showcases.
• Develop and maintain accelerators, templates, and estimation models for IBP and S/4HANA implementations.

Required Skills & Experience

• 12 15 years of SAP experience with a focus on Supply Planning and Execution.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in SAP IBP Response and Supply, including order-based planning and supply planning optimization.
• Deep expertise in S/4HANA PP and MM with strong understanding of material planning, MRP, capacity planning, and production order execution.
• Proven experience in:
• Configuration and testing of IBP models and planning areas
• End-to-end data integration between IBP and S/4HANA
• Constraint-based and demand-driven supply planning scenarios
• Global template design and deployment
• Strong experience in client-facing leadership, stakeholder management, and executive communication.
• Track record of delivering consulting engagements across manufacturing, CPG, life sciences, or high-tech industries.
• Familiarity with Agile/Activate methodology and hybrid delivery models.

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor s or Master s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• SAP Certified Application Consultant IBP for Supply and Response preferred.
• SAP S/4HANA certification in PP or MM a strong plus.
