Job Description

Purpose: Serves as an expert for Digital Planning topics within the Paint Shop Planning department with a focus on the efficient use and sharing of digital information to support rapid project realization and risk reduction. Coordinates paint shop engineering and planning activities surrounding structure projects which support plant and paint shop department goals and targets. Plans and coordinates equipment

installation and improvement projects which support paint shop structure and new paint shop expansions.

Position Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Coordinates new equipment installation and investment projects (new model, structure, and plant small projects).
• Steers activities relating to engineering, installation, commissioning, documentation, and sign-off of new equipment projects.
• Provides technical expertise in the use of 3D modeling for new systems including interference checks, virtual walk-throughs, and coordination in a multi-supplier environment.
• Maintains knowledge of MicroStation/Tricad and best practices for CAD including the use of 3D.
• Provides technical expertise on the use of 3D measurement technologies for installation verification, baseline data, planning new projects, importing of cell data into robot simulations, etc.
• Maintains knowledge of systems necessary for the archival and referencing of plant layouts.
• Ensures revision and document control for digital drawings.
• Maintains knowledge and specifications for Paint shop production/process equipment which include material delivery and circulation systems, cavity wax systems, application robotic automation, and air supply units.
• Provides technical training for production/ESA teams on new equipment installations and process equipment modifications throughout Paint Shop.
• Provides input to procurement on the identification and selection of qualified equipment suppliers.
• Understands and models VPS (Value Added Production System) Principles and concepts of Standard Work and Problem Solving.
• Adheres to 5S and Safety Standards and Principles.

Education/ Experience: BA/BS degree, preferably in Engineering, or the equivalent of 4 years of project management experience in a manufacturing environment.

• 3+ years of related professional experience working with 2D and 3D CAD software (MicroStation preferred).
• 1+ years of project management/lead experience within a manufacturing, quality or planning environment.
