Overview

CTG has an immediate opportunity for a Systems Administrator. At CTG, we rely on our IT systems to help our business reach and succeed with consumers all over the world. We are seeking an experienced systems administrator who is eager to use and grow their technological skills. In this role, the successful individual will protect our critical information, systems, and assets, build solutions, implement new software and hardware, provide training and assist in the development of an overall IT strategy. Our ideal candidate will be passionate about applying their skills to technology-based business models that create real-world solutions for the world.

This position will be doing systems administration duties for workstations, servers, laptops, VMware virtual machines, storage, network, and information systems that support in-house software development teams. On the systems administration side, we run Windows, Linux, Mac OSX, VMWare, Dell Storage and Microsoft Azure. This is a full-time, salaried position in our Melbourne, Florida office.

Primary Responsibilities

The Systems Administrator will be working with the Melbourne-based IT team, supporting Melbourne-based Software Development Teams that support a Warehouse Management System for a major US food and beverage manufacturer. The development team adds new capabilities to the existing custom system that runs primarily in a Windows environment. Less than 10% travel would be expected, and off hours support as needed to support the business needs.

Systems Administrator Role

  • Perform server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, research event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly
  • Monitor datacenter health using preexisting management tools and respond to hardware issues as they arise; help build, test, and maintain new servers as needed
  • Maintain internal infrastructure requirements including, laptop and desktop computers, servers, storage, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, security updates, support internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segments
  • Strong firsthand experience with large-scale Virtual Environments (e.g., VMware, Dell [VXRail], Virtualization, Hyper-V, Backup System [Veeam]).
  • Interact with the help desk and other teams to assist in troubleshooting, identify root cause, and provide technical support when needed
  • Perform routine/scheduled audits of the systems, including all backups
  • Improve monitoring and resilience of hardware and information systems
  • Maintain information systems to support software development process such as Gitlab, Jenkins, Office365, and Teams
  • Provide automated software setup for hardware so that software patches and packages can be maintained automatically (OS images for physical and virtual machines)
  • Partner with CTG Corporate IT as the local contact to make sure we stay up to date with corporate policies
  • Work with IT team to develop and implement continual improvement of IT vision

Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Systems Administration: Windows, Linux, Mac OSX, and VMWare
  • Strong verbal and written communications
  • Good people skills working with developers, program managers, and management as the customer
  • Proven work experience in IT
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Applications, Visual Studio is a plus
  • Creating volumes on storage array, assigning to servers, and remote replication

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred experience in on/off-premises Cloud technologies (specifically Storage, VMWare, and Microsoft Azure)
  • Knowledge of different operating systems (Microsoft, Unix, Linux, MacOSX, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory and Backups (Veeam)
