Title: Community Development Qualification Analyst I
Location: Detroit, MI or Cincinnati, OH
Duration: 4 months contract+ (Possible Extension)
Job Description:
The Community Development Qualification Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the Bank s CRA compliance efforts by evaluating, qualifying, and documenting community development activities. This position ensures that loans, investments, and services meet regulatory requirements and align with the institution s CRA strategy. The analyst collaborates with internal stakeholders to maintain accurate records and provide insights that support CRA performance and regulatory examinations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review the Bank s commercial loans, investments, and employee volunteerism to identify community development eligible activities
- Using the Internet, research non-profit and private businesses to determine and document community development eligibility
- Compile and maintain lists of loans, investments, employee volunteerism for internal reporting purposes
- Perform quality control checks of qualified community development activities
- Assist with Compliance Testing reviews, internal audits, and CRA performance examinations
- Maintain current knowledge of the CRA, CRA-related regulatory precedents, and industry trends Maintain a regular cadence of meetings with internal partners, providing community development subject matter expertise and insights to CRA performance
- Partner with the appropriate colleagues to enhance reporting and communication to business units regarding community development and CRA performance
- Manage a complex workload that may include multiple tasks with conflicting priorities
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Bachelor s degree or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of analyst or equivalent work experience
- Demonstrates working or functional proficiency of Microsoft Office products and Adobe Writer with an expanded knowledge of using formulas and formatting within Excel and editing capabilities within Adobe Writer
- Compliance, regulatory, and/or quality control experience is highly valued
- Ability to produce a high quality work product and to understand and summarize large amounts of information in a concise manner
- Ability to work under pressure, manage concurrent responsibilities, and prioritize according to shifting and sometimes accelerated deadlines
- Self-starter, comfortable with identifying, evaluating, learning, and/or indoctrinating analytic and quality control methods and tools that are new to Fifth Third and/or to the CRA team
- Ability to manage time, stay organized and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment that often requires the management of multiple and competing priorities
- Ability to understand regulatory policies and control environments as well as emerging CRA and Community Development risks
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others towards shared goals
- Comfortable representing community development matters in a variety of settings and presenting to all levels of management, including occasional presentations to executive leadership
- A high level of demonstratable oral and written communication skills
- Proven technical or creative writing skills
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite
