Job Description

Responsible for first responding to the issue occurred in the field including at Milford Proving Ground (MPG), Pre-Production Operation (PPO), vehicle assembly plant, Capture Test Fleet (CTF) vehicles, and other locations which the problematic symptom is related to VCU. Go to the actual location where the issue is observed or reported and perform initial investigation, including confirming the issue and its symptoms, verifying current component and system status, collecting related vehicle's/component's log data, as well as working with the team onsite to coordinate the troubleshooting plan involving other related cross-functional teams. Work closely with VCU DREs, domain leads, Software project manager, software developers and other VCU team members to focus on resolving the issue with speed. First respondent to the issue onsite and conduct preliminary investigation. Coordinate troubleshooting plan efficiently with related multi-functional teams. Correlate with issue owner(s) with required data such as issue symptoms and logs. Support root-cause effort for problem resolution at a system and component level. Coordinate with CTFs' drivers to perform data collection and software reflash/upgrade in CTFs. Experience with software and calibration work. Read across issues to other vehicle lines and assembly plants. Track and resolve launch issues with related teams. Support to remove development and implementation roadblocks. Support vehicle integration and build events. Support VCU reflash and retrofit events. Hybrid Work Policy - 3 days In-office, 2 days remote - Must be able to report to local office.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering, or related field of study and Two years of experience as a Application Engineer, Development Engineer, Product Development Engineer, or related role. Two years of experience with: Electronic and embedded modules, with an emphasis on specific industry domains including infotainment, automotive, and consumer electronics; Automotive electrical systems and functional sub-systems; Understanding of current infotainment technologies, including Bluetooth, Voice Recognition, Wi-Fi, Navigation, and In-vehicle Apps; Common serial data testing equipment and tools including NeoVI, serial data analysis tools, and other diagnostics tools; GMLAN serial data communication protocol; MOST, ETHERNET, LAN, and LIN; Understanding of high-speed communication protocols including SerDes and Ethernet and their application in system stability and hardware integration; Ability to read andanalyze log files for diagnostics and troubleshooting across various system types; and Development lifecycle for complex systems and how it impacts hardware and software integration including development plans, module and component design, and validation.
