The Vision Products Group (VPG) introduced Apple Vision Pro and visionOS to the world, setting a new standard for AR/VR platforms, and is now looking for a creative Software Engineer to help deliver world class content.

Description Apple makes the newest technologies accessible to create amazing user experiences. You will have the opportunity to work in a team developing system level frameworks enabling these experiences, in close collaboration with creative teams across Apple and VPG. The candidate for this role will be comfortable working in a dynamic and creative environment. Engineers are expected to work quickly and smartly to help determine the viability of ideas and technologies. You will need to be equally comfortable writing C++ code, debugging Swift, troubleshooting rendering artifacts, and figuring out a way how to automate things to increase team's velocity.

Minimum Qualifications
  • At least 10+ years of relevant industry experience with the following:
  • Expert programming skills and knowledge of C++
  • Advanced in mathematics for 3D realtime applications (linear algebra)
  • Demonstrated initiative in recognizing process bottlenecks and developing solutions (e.g., automation, tooling) to benefit the wider team
  • Demonstrated experience working across multiple distinct components or layers of a software system
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Seasoned experience delivering high quality software to end users
  • BS/MS in Computer Science OR equivalent degree OR equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Python, Java, comfortable learning new languages
  • Seasoned experience with macOS and Unix
  • Experience working with containers, docker, VMs
  • Experience with observability (tracing, metrics)

Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
