The Vision Products Group (VPG) introduced Apple Vision Pro and visionOS to the world, setting a new standard for AR/VR platforms, and is now looking for a creative Software Engineer to help deliver world class content.
Description Apple makes the newest technologies accessible to create amazing user experiences. You will have the opportunity to work in a team developing system level frameworks enabling these experiences, in close collaboration with creative teams across Apple and VPG. The candidate for this role will be comfortable working in a dynamic and creative environment. Engineers are expected to work quickly and smartly to help determine the viability of ideas and technologies. You will need to be equally comfortable writing C++ code, debugging Swift, troubleshooting rendering artifacts, and figuring out a way how to automate things to increase team's velocity.

Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Minimum Qualifications
- At least 10+ years of relevant industry experience with the following:
- Expert programming skills and knowledge of C++
- Advanced in mathematics for 3D realtime applications (linear algebra)
- Demonstrated initiative in recognizing process bottlenecks and developing solutions (e.g., automation, tooling) to benefit the wider team
- Demonstrated experience working across multiple distinct components or layers of a software system
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Seasoned experience delivering high quality software to end users
- BS/MS in Computer Science OR equivalent degree OR equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Python, Java, comfortable learning new languages
- Seasoned experience with macOS and Unix
- Experience working with containers, docker, VMs
- Experience with observability (tracing, metrics)
