Duration: 6-month contract, potential to extend or convert not guaranteed
Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid - Local candidates preferred must reside within the Bay Area counties. Not willing to pay relocation)
Shift: Standard 8-5. Must be able to work OT if needed
Years of Experience: 1. Technical Experience
5 to 7+ years working in information technology, infrastructure services, or server administration.
Experience must include hands-on administration of servers, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and virtualization technologies.
2. Management / Leadership Experience
1 to 3+ years managing a team of technical professionals.
Experience leading operations, project work, or a server team is required.
Important Skills:
The ideal candidate is a technically strong server and cloud administrator with proven team leadership experience, project management abilities, and excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Technical expertise in Windows, Linux, virtualization, and IaC (Infrastructure as Code) is non-negotiable, while cloud, automation, and EPIC are highly desirable.
These are the core technical competencies the supervisor must have to manage servers and infrastructure effectively:
Server & OS Administration
Hands-on experience with Windows Server administration.
Hands-on experience with Linux distributions (RHEL, Ubuntu).
Installing, configuring, and maintaining servers, both physical and virtual.
Virtualization & Cloud
Experience with hypervisors (e.g., VMware, Citrix XenServer).
Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and server migrations.
Understanding of cloud automation and orchestration.
Infrastructure Automation
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
Experience with tools like Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or equivalents.
Ability to automate server deployment and configuration processes.
Networking & Security (Baseline)
Basic networking knowledge: TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, network security.
Awareness of server security best practices.
Project & Service Management
Familiarity with ServiceNow, BigFix, or similar service management platforms.
Experience supporting SLAs and service-level expectations.
