Job Description Summary
Job Description
Essential Functions / Responsibilities:
Coordinate all tasks and activities of the Design Change Process within a cross-functional team (Supply Chain, Sourcing, Quality, etc.) to ensure all changes are properly performed and documented from the beginning of the ECR (Engineering Change Request) process through to the end with the ECO (Engineering Change Order) implementation. Work closely with the technical lead to properly understand the background and scope of the change as it relates to the Design Change Process and simplify processes in order to reduce overall ECR/ECO cycle time. Contribute to continuous improvement of the engineering Change Process and use of current skillset to keep defining the role to make it more efficient. Provide creative solutions to unstructured product and system design issues from both factory and field. Provide technical support and evaluation of alternative designs and processes to support supply chain needs. Evaluate new developments in assembly, welding, brazing, pressure vessels, vacuum chambers, and cryogenic tool and processes. Proactively manage cross-functional interdependencies to maximize team efficiency and avoid gaps and delays in mid to long-term execution. Anticipate integration issues and discern appropriate actions to progress the team forward. Connect planning and cross-functional impacts of product NPI, Installed Base, Obsolescence and End-of Life.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related. One (1) year in the manufacturing and design of superconducting magnets, cryostat devices, or similar medical devices. Work experience to include: 3D designs in CREO or CAD to enhance design accuracy and efficiency; Management and execution of at least three (3) simultaneous engineering change orders (ECOs), ensuring timely project updates; ISO qualification and validation using ISO13485; Implement qualification and validation processes achieving compliance with ISO and other medical device standards; Data analysis to identify trends and insights for process improvements and increased efficiency; Process conversion through drawings and engineering controls to streamline production workflows; and Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiment (DOE).
