Job Details

Job Title: Sr. Oracle DBA

Contract: W2 Only

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or related discipline and 8 to 10+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle RDBMS or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Broad technical expertise with deep technical knowledge in Oracle RDBMS 11.2, 12c, and 19c.
  • Expert level knowledge: General RDBMS, Database tuning, SQL tuning, Database Statistics, Database upgrades, Data Guard.
  • Solid working level knowledge: RAC (Real Application Clusters), Exadata (X6-X9am), ASM, Grid Infrastructure, RMAN, working in a Unix shell, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle database compliance framework, vi editor, working with Oracle Databases on Unix (Solaris) and RedHat/Oracle Linux.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Able to effectively communicate highly technical information in non-technical terminology (written and verbal).
  • Understanding of change management principles associated with new technology implementations.
  • Understands and applies project management principles when leading and directing work.
  • Maintains deep knowledge of database technology and its application across Exelon.
  • Promotes knowledge via seminars, presentations and publications within IT and Exelon.
  • Participates in technological innovation to drive new business opportunities and solve complex business problems.
  • Independence level: works under minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Recent Oracle Certified Professional Certification.
  • Experience with Oracle Database in Oracle Cloud or Azure.
  • Golden Gate experience.
  • Korn shell scripting.
  • Multi-tenancy database architecture (CDB & PDB).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Undertakes complex database projects requiring specialized technical knowledge. Makes well-thought-out decisions on complex or ambiguous database issues. Comprehends the big picture.
  • Provide technical database expertise and/or solution delivery support for maintaining performance and reliability of database solutions.
  • Maintain and enhance engagement with business and IT partners to determine requirements in support of service levels and project commitments. Establishes partner relationships with clients, internal and external. Visible and accessible to clients.
  • Build and maintains knowledge of new technologies or technology opportunities and assists in development of analysis for business and/or IT clients.
  • Participate in relevant IT Architecture Domain Groups to appropriately review and plan the introduction of new database technologies. Ensures appropriate implementation of technology both within the production and the development environments. Establishes and communicates common technical goals/direction for team.
  • Provide performance evaluations, career development feedback, and recognition. Acts as a source of direction, training and guidance for less experienced staff. Approachable and leads by example.
  • Finds ways over, around and through barriers to success. Self-starter. A results-oriented doer.
