We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Cybersecurity A&A Analyst for a Full-Time position.

Cybersecurity A&A Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the cybersecurity and privacy initiatives of the Cybersecurity Office. This position is essential for ensuring compliance with cybersecurity and privacy-related laws, regulations, and policies set forth by various governmental agencies. The Specialist will work closely with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and other relevant stakeholders to identify, research, and implement cybersecurity and privacy guidance. Additionally, the Specialist will assist in the development and management of documentation required for Assessment & Authorization (A&A) and support the Associate Privacy Officer in managing the Bureau's privacy program activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the CISO to identify cybersecurity and privacy policies, regulations, procedures, and documentation requirements mandated by DHS, NIST, and the Department of the Interior.
  • Research existing government and industry policies, perform requirements gathering and analysis, and produce draft documents for review by the CISO and other relevant staff.
  • Assess the status of documentation needed for the A&A and develop draft documents for review by the CISO and other relevant staff.
  • Produce, edit, or format documents required for the success of the cybersecurity and privacy program as directed by the CISO.
  • Assist in developing and tracking Plan of Action and Milestone (POA&M) items related to cybersecurity and privacy matters.
  • Support the Associate Privacy Officer in managing the Bureau's privacy program activities, including compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Create, maintain, and update privacy threshold analysis (PTA), privacy impact assessments (PIA), and System of Records Notices (SORNs).
  • Oversee compliance with various acts, including the Privacy Act of 1974, FISMA, HIPAA, and other relevant policies and standards.
  • Coordinate with the Departmental Privacy Officer and other governmental agencies on privacy-related matters.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience working in cybersecurity and privacy compliance, preferably in a governmental or regulated environment.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity and privacy laws, regulations, and standards, including DHS, NIST, and Department of the Interior guidelines.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills with the ability to gather and analyze requirements effectively.
  • Proficiency in drafting and editing technical documents and reports.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
