Data Scientist - Machine Learning & AI

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in San Antonio, TX that is seeking a Data Scientist with expertise in machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI).

Summary:
This person is a professional who applies advanced analytical and computational techniques to extract insights from data, build predictive models, and develop intelligent systems. Their role typically encompasses the entire data lifecycle, from data collection and preparation to model deployment and evaluation. As a Data Scientist, you will be extracting meaningful insights from complex datasets, identifying patterns, and interpreting data to inform strategic decision-making. Data scientists with ML and AI expertise play a crucial role in today's data-driven landscape, helping organizations leverage data and technology to achieve business goals and drive innovation.

REQUIREMENTS:
* Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field; PhD or additional experience is often preferred
* Experience: Several years of work experience as a data scientist, ideally with a focus on machine learning and AI
* Strong programming skills in languages like Python and R, and experience with ML frameworks like TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch
* Excellent understanding of statistical methods and ML algorithms
* Familiarity with agentic workflows, RAG techniques, and model fine-tuning
* Proficiency in data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI
* Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, data warehousing, and ETL processes
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Desired:
* Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Azure AI Studio) for AI workflows and model deployment
* Familiarity with natural language processing (NLP) and computer vision techniques

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
