Role: Senior SAP ABAP Developer

Location: Remote

We are seeking a Senior SAP ABAP Developer experienced in designing and developing ABAP programs supporting dataflow, data migration, and integration processes. The role focuses on building ABAP components that work seamlessly with ETL jobs (e.g., SAP BODS, SAP Data Intelligence, or other dataflow tools) for smooth data exchange between SAP and external systems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain ABAP programs, BAPIs, RFCs, function modules, and enhancements to support dataflows and ETL jobs.
  • Collaborate with data migration and data integration teams to design efficient dataflow processes between SAP and non-SAP systems.
  • Build custom extraction and load routines in ABAP for integration with tools such as BODS or SAP Data Intelligence.
  • Implement error handling, data validation, and logging mechanisms for large-volume data movements.
  • Optimize ABAP performance for mass data processing during dataflow execution.
  • Support end-to-end data migration activities: data mapping, transformation, validation, and reconciliation.
  • Work closely with functional consultants and ETL developers to align technical design with business requirements.
  • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and assist during UAT and go-live support.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation for all developments and dataflows.


Required Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience in SAP ABAP (Reports, BAPIs, RFCs, IDOCs, Enhancements, SmartForms, etc.).
  • Proven experience with dataflow or ETL processes (e.g., SAP BODS, SAP Data Intelligence, or similar tools).
  • Expertise in data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) from SAP to external systems or vice versa.
  • Knowledge of IDOC configuration and ALE communication.
  • Strong debugging, performance tuning, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with SAP ECC or S/4HANA environments.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies and DevOps nice to have.
  • SAP certification in ABAP or Data Services is a plus.


Education

  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
