Job Title: Business Analyst EMS Application Engineering

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with domain expertise in EMS application engineering. The candidate will provide critical support in understanding and translating business requirements into functional design, particularly in the Transmission and Distribution Utilities sector. The role demands a strong grasp of Power Flow, State Estimator, Contingency Analysis, and Optimal Power Flow (OPF). The candidate will work closely with business teams and technical stakeholders to resolve functional and data issues while ensuring alignment of integration and test requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide domain expertise in EMS application engineering and related power system functions
  • Analyze and resolve functional issues, providing timely incident resolution and workarounds
  • Collaborate with business teams to understand and map business requirements to functional design
  • Validate alignment of data, integration, and testing requirements
  • Support network topology build and manage databases and displays for new IEDs/ICCP data
  • Work within an Onshore/Offshore global delivery model
  • Address data issues and RTU communication challenges

Essential Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Power Flow, State Estimator, Contingency Analysis, and OPF
  • Experience with EMS application architecture and security
  • Proficient in working with SCADA/EMS/DMS integration technologies
  • Ability to manage and resolve functional and data issues within transmission and distribution utilities
  • Experience with multiple market products such as GE, Hitachi, OSI, and SE
  • Knowledge of DERMS applications is an advantage
  • Familiarity with NERC certification is preferred

Desirable Skills

  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies including Waterfall and Agile
  • Ability to validate business requirements mapping and test requirements
  • Understanding of network topology build requirements
