Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Front-End Lead / Architect

Location Irving TX Remote

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Front-End Lead to spearhead the development and optimization of enterprise-level digital experiences within our marketing technology portfolio. This role requires a hands-on technical expert with deep expertise in AEM, modern front-end technologies, component development, and digital performance optimization. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including UI/UX designers, back-end developers, content strategists, and business stakeholders, to create seamless, high-performing, and scalable digital experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

AEM Front-End Development & Leadership

  • Lead the front-end development efforts for enterprise-level websites and digital marketing initiatives using Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
  • Develop and enhance AEM components, templates, and client libraries (Clientlibs) with a strong focus on performance, maintainability, and scalability.
  • Architect and implement headless and hybrid AEM front-end solutions using frameworks such as Angular or React.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices for component-based development, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and TypeScript.
  • Maintain and optimize AEM Dispatcher caching strategies to enhance site performance.

Enterprise Marketing & Digital Optimization

  • Work closely with digital marketing teams to integrate AEM with personalization engines, analytics (Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics), and A/B testing platforms (Adobe Target, Optimizely, etc.).
  • Implement SEO-friendly and WCAG-compliant front-end code to improve search visibility and accessibility.
  • Develop structured content strategies leveraging AEM Content Fragments and Experience Fragments for omnichannel delivery.
  • Support the implementation of headless CMS approaches via AEM s Content Services.

Technical Strategy & Innovation

  • Establish best practices for AEM front-end development, performance optimization, and code governance.
  • Evaluate and implement new front-end technologies, JAMstack architectures, and PWA strategies within the AEM ecosystem.
  • Lead code reviews, mentor junior developers, and provide technical guidance on complex issues.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to optimize CI/CD pipelines, cloud deployments (Adobe Cloud Manager,Azure), and security protocols.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with UI/UX designers to translate designs into pixel-perfect, responsive, and interactive web experiences.
  • Work with back-end developers to integrate AEM front-end components with Osgi bundles, Sling models, and REST APIs.
  • Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment between business goals and technology solutions.

Required Skills & Experience:

Technical Expertise:

  • 7+ years of front-end development experience, with at least 4+ years in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM 6.5+).
  • Proficiency in HTL (Sightly), JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, CSS/SASS, and modern JS frameworks (React, Vue.js, or Angular).

  • Experience working with Adobe Target, Adobe Analytics, and other marketing automation tools.
  • Expertise in web performance optimization, Core Web Vitals, and SEO best practices.

Enterprise & Leadership Skills:

  • Proven ability to lead front-end teams and mentor developers.
  • Experience working in enterprise-level Agile and DevOps environments.
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Git, Jenkins, Azure).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams and global stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Adobe Certified AEM Sites Developer or Architect certification.
