Core responsibilities
Tax configuration: Configure tax procedures, tax codes, and related settings in SAP FICO to ensure accurate tax calculation and compliance.
SAP FICO support: Manage and support key modules like General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Asset Accounting (AA).
Tax engine integration: Integrate SAP with external tax engines (e.g., Vertex, OneSource - Primary) and develop necessary configurations and testing procedures.
Business process alignment: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure FICO and tax solutions align with business needs, including Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and Order-to-Cash (O2C) processes.
Compliance and reporting: Ensure compliance with local and international tax regulations, support statutory audits, and manage tax reporting, such as GST and TDS.
Testing and troubleshooting: Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and resolve issues related to financial and tax postings.
End-user support: Provide training to end-users, create documentation, and offer ongoing support for tax and FICO processes.
Required skills and experience
Experience: Minimum of 6-10 years of experience in SAP FICO, with a specific focus on OneSource in tax implementation.
SAP modules: Strong expertise in SAP FICO modules, including GL, AP, AR, and Asset Accounting.
Tax expertise: In-depth knowledge of tax processes, such as GST, TDS, and international taxes.
Tax engine knowledge: Experience with external tax engines like Vertex, Avalara, or Sovos is often required, especially for global roles.
Business process knowledge: Solid understanding of end-to-end business processes like P2P and O2C.
Technical skills: Proficiency in SAP configuration, functional specifications, and SAP S/4HANA is beneficial.
Soft skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
