Responsibilities:

An IBM Sterling Integrator specialist with strong BPML and mapping experience is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing B2B/EDI integration solutions, focusing on both business process management and complex data mapping tasks.

Job Description

Role: IBM Sterling Integrator Specialist (BPML & Mapping)

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain integration solutions using IBM Sterling Integrator—including BPML workflow creation and mapping across various formats (EDI, XML, flat files, CSV, JSON).

  • Configure, test, and deploy B2B and EDI transactions, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., X12, EDIFACT).

  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to gather requirements and architect mapping specifications.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve mapping, coding, and workflow issues throughout development and implementation.

  • Document technical configurations, mapping specifications, and coding standards.

  • Provide guidance and technical support to project teams regarding BPML and mapping modules.

  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in B2B integration, EDI protocols, and BPML best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in IBM Sterling B2B Integrator and EDI mapping.

  • Strong expertise in BPML workflow development, EDI standards (X12, EDIFACT), and mapping tools/languages (IBM Mapper, XMLSpy, GENTRAN).

  • Solid understanding of integration protocols (AS2, FTP, VAN) and hands-on scripting (Java, SQL, etc.).

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills

  • IBM Sterling certifications and prior client-facing technical support are highly valued.

  • Experience with requirements gathering, end-to-end testing, and business process documentation.

  • Knowledge of Retail, Logistics, or Warehouse EDI transactions is an advantage.
