Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a motivated Technical Editor to join our team at our Landover, MD office. Our program provides full life cycle support for a large Information Technology (IT) system for the Department of Defense (DoD). This program delivers full life-cycle engineering support for all system elements including Development (hardware, software and networks), Systems and Security Engineering (Integration, testing and Deployment), Sustainment (Logistics, and field support), Network Operations Center (NOC)/Help Desk, and Government user training support for user community.

Technical editing is a collaborative process of generating content with authors to check the correctness of specialized terminology, equations, and combinability of textual and visual elements. In this role you will be reviewing, editing, improving written technical documents or technical materials prior to publication.

The Technical Editor will be responsible for but not limited to:

Edit documents to ensure compliance with style, design, layout, specification, and grammar and spelling requirements.
Edit, format, and maintain documents including, but not limited to program plans, system test reports, procedures, design documentation, requirements, user manuals, training materials, presentations, meeting minutes, and reports.
Collaborate with authors, assigned stakeholders, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gain better understanding of subject matter.
Conduct quality review of materials and provide peer review of program documents.
Manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
**This role is required to provide support, on-site, Mon-Fri**

**This program does allow for a flexible work schedule and is walking distance from a Metro station**

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

An active Top Secret/ SCI Security Clearance.
Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism, Communications or related+ discipline and five (5) years of relevant experience, or Masters Degree and three (3) years of experience, or a PhD and zero (0) years of expeience. Additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
Must have at-least two (2) years experience in MS Office Suite with proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Skills must include ability to create and modify styles, forms, and templates.
Must possess excellent communications and interpersonal skills, be proactive, possess excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, and be self-motivated.

Experience drafting technical documents and SOPS
Expert knowledge of MS Office Products
Experience working with Jira and Confluence
Experience with a version control system
Experience with LibreOffice

The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees.
