Position Overview:
As a Principal Validation Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be part of the team responsible for achieving best-in-class validation methodologies! As a player/coach capacity, you'll be engaged in the design, development, validation, characterization, and qualification of Micron's next-generation SSD Enterprise and data center products. The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:
$165,000.00 - $280,000.00
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. Responsibilities:
- Design and develop test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate Enterprise and Datacenter class NVMe SSD products.
- Mentor and guide a team of engineers, offering direction on project tasks, delivering feedback, and encouraging professional growth.
- Collaborate with Architecture, Design, Hardware, and Firmware engineering teams to develop and implement SSD validation test cases, identify failures, and drive them to resolution.
- Provide technical expertise in validation methodology and design.
- Address SSD and software integration issues, applying systematic methods to reproduce and identify the root cause of the problem
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of experience in SSD Firmware Validation.
- Over 5 years of experience leading technical teams, with a strong focus on planning and tracking multiple projects, prioritizing tasks, and maintaining self-management.
- Good hands-on experience in debugging NVMe Protocol issues
- Experience using Lecroy/SerialTek analyzers.
- Understanding of test methods (White/Black/Grey Box) for Enterprise/Datacenter SSD Firmware.
- Experience integrating tests into an automated test environment and collaborating with test execution teams to drive validation plans/strategy.
- Good knowledge of coding in Python and Linux operating system.
- Effective oral and written communication with strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to managing numerous congruent projects efficiently, with a strong focus on results and excellent organizational skills. Capable of seeing the big picture and prioritizing tasks effectively, ensuring optimal time management and self-direction.
- Must have excellent knowledge of system storage and the relationship to the platform ingredients: CPU, Memory, PCIe, drivers, OS, firmware, etc.
- Ability to recommend and instrument new validation approaches that drive better end-to-end coverage, more accurate testing, and expanded testing services.
