Role: Advanced Aerospace Signal Processing Engineer ELINT/COMINT

Location: Falls Church, VA (Onsite)

Job Type: Contract (12 Months)

Role Overview:

Seeking an expert engineer with deep experience in developing, testing, and optimizing real-time signal processing algorithms for Electronic Intelligence (ELINT) and Communications Intelligence (COMINT) systems used in aerospace and defense. This role requires handling classified data streams and secure processing environments. Only candidates with active Top Secret/SCI clearance and experience in ELINT/COMINT systems development will be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and optimize DSP algorithms for real-time signal detection, classification, and geolocation in airborne intelligence systems.
  • Implement and validate algorithms in embedded C/C++ or MATLAB/Simulink with deployment to FPGA/DSP hardware platforms.
  • Integrate with RF front-end systems and secure communications modules adhering to MIL STD-810 and DO-178C standards.
  • Perform advanced time-frequency analysis, adaptive filtering, and pattern recognition on intercepted signals.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to tune and debug signal chains using logic analyzers and spectrum analyzers.
  • Produce technical documentation, algorithm performance reports, and participate in classified program reviews.
  • Work onsite at secured government or contractor facilities with strict physical and cyber security protocols.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in signal processing for ELINT/COMINT or similar classified aerospace systems with a total of minimum 10+ years of experience.
  • Active U.S. Top Secret/SCI clearance with SAP eligibility (mandatory).
  • Proficiency in C/C++, MATLAB, Simulink, and experience deploying algorithms to DSP or FPGA targets.
  • Understanding of RF signal chain components and protocols relevant to aerospace intelligence systems.
  • Familiarity with government aerospace standards (MIL-STD, DO-178C).
  • Experience working in secure lab environments and handling classified information.
  • Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field (Master s preferred).
