Job Title: Embedded Firmware Engineer
Location: Goleta, CA (Onsite)
Duration/Term: Long-Term Contract
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Firmware Engineer to design and optimize firmware for automotive-grade camera and vision systems, with a strong emphasis on ADAS technologies and real-time algorithm integration. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with FPGAs, MPSoCs, and SoC-based embedded development for vision-based automotive applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop firmware for vision systems and embedded platforms targeting ADAS solutions.
- Develop and validate firmware for Lattice FPGAs and MPSoC platforms (e.g., Xilinx Zynq).
- Port and integrate vision and sensor algorithms into real-time firmware environments.
- Collaborate closely with hardware, software, and algorithm teams for end-to-end system integration.
- Optimize data pipelines and real-time processing for high-speed camera systems.
- Conduct debugging, validation, and documentation in accordance with automotive compliance standards.
- Contribute to the full lifecycle from prototyping to production within a multidisciplinary team.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven expertise in embedded firmware development for camera or vision-based systems.
- Hands-on experience with Lattice FPGAs (Lattice Diamond, Radiant).
- Strong SoC development experience with platforms like Xilinx Zynq, TI, NXP, or Renesas.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and embedded development toolchains.
- Experience in real-time firmware implementation for vision algorithms.
- Familiarity with ADAS, autonomous systems, and automotive-grade design.
- Deep knowledge of RTOS, memory management, and protocols: SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Ethernet.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of ISO 26262, AUTOSAR, and automotive safety standards.
- Knowledge of GStreamer, OpenCV, and other vision libraries.
- Experience with bootloaders, diagnostics, and OTA updates.
- Exposure to Image Signal Processing (ISP) and sensor calibration/tuning.
- Bachelor s or Master s in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
