Network Technician

Description:
TEKsystems is partnering with a local organization to hire for a Network Technician. This person will assist on a 3 - 4 month basis to complete a network asset inventory and heat mapping exercise.
Key Responsibilities Include:

• Surveying and mapping the entire wireless network infrastructure.
• Creating a detailed inventory of all network-connected devices, including type, model, function, and vendor by location.
• Compiling a visual catalog of the technologies deployed across the site.
• Reviewing existing network diagrams and documenting IP schemes, configurations, and connectivity.
• Identifying and mapping devices and applications to their respective vendor technologies (e.g., POS systems, gateways).
• Supporting the broader IT team by contributing to other essential tasks as needed.

Experience Needed:

• 1 - 3 years of computer networking infrastructure experience is required, wireless technology desired.
• Ability to solve network related problems by using diagnostic techniques and protocols
• Thorough understanding of network protcols including TCP/IP and networking equipment including routers, switches, and wireless systems.
• Experience conducting a network inventory, creating a network diagram and performing wireless access heat mapping exercise (preferred)

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00/hr.
