Senior Business Analyst
POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Business Analyst (Sr. BA) will play a critical role in delivering process and data-driven insights for the division at our client. This role will bridge the gap between business stakeholders, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and the Data Analytics and Business Technology Delivery teams. The Sr. BA will be responsible for capturing current state processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and defining clear and actionable future state requirements. This includes drafting Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), facilitating stakeholder interviews, supporting project scoping, and collaborating with data analysts for reporting and automation efforts.
This position requires a candidate who can think strategically, work autonomously, communicate effectively across disciplines, and translate business needs into actionable deliverables.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and document current state business processes through stakeholder interviews and data analysis.
Define and communicate future state requirements that align with business goals and compliance needs.
Collaborate closely with Data Analysts to ensure that data-driven solutions are aligned with business needs.
Translate stakeholder input into clear, structured business requirements for use by developers, analysts, and project managers.
Create documentation such as Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), user stories, process maps, and other project artifacts.
Identify gaps and opportunities for process optimization, automation, and control enhancements.
Support cross-functional teams in delivering timely and effective solutions, including participation in QA and UAT phases.
Help facilitate project intake and prioritization processes.
Maintain visibility into project timelines and proactively manage stakeholder expectations.
Participate in compliance training and maintain awareness of policies impacting the MSR and mortgage servicing environment.
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Exceptional analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
Proven ability to gather, analyze, and synthesize requirements in a complex environment.
Skilled at process mapping and using tools like Visio.
Adept with MS Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience working with or supporting data teams (Power BI, SQL) is a strong plus.
Comfortable in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, and evolving work environment.
Self-starter with strong prioritization and time management abilities.
PREFERRED TECHNICAL SKILLS
Familiarity with SharePoint, Power BI, or Database Definition Documentation is a plus.
Working knowledge of SQL is desirable for validating data or supporting analyst collaboration.
Knowledge of mortgage servicing, securitization, or financial data flows is highly preferred.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, MIS, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in business analysis, preferably within mortgage, banking, or financial services.
Experience with data-centric projects and cross-functional team collaboration.
