Job Details

Job Title: Business Analyst (Payment Process)

Location: Remote (Preference for EST and CST time zones)

Duration: 12 months contract, with uncertain extension prospects

Team and Project Overview

This team manages the Payment Processing ecosystem supporting DFS customers. The current focus is on resolving multiple failures within the payment process to enhance service reliability. The new team members will be dedicated to addressing these issues and ensuring seamless customer service.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Act as a key owner for payment-related processes, supporting the management of card and merchant payment workflows.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze payment system challenges and implement solutions.
  • Use analytics to identify trends, optimize workflows, and improve payment system performance.
  • Support the development and refinement of payment product strategies through data-driven insights.
  • Collaborate with technology teams on system failures and process improvements to prevent similar issues.
  • Assist in reporting and monitoring payment system performance using dashboards and analytics tools.

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in payments, covering:
  • Payment gateways and merchant payment processing
  • Card transaction workflows
  • Payment compliance standards
  • Payment ecosystem understanding
  • Troubleshooting technical failures and failure management
  • Experience with Salesforce, Snowflake, Tableau for analytics and reporting
  • Excellent communication skills, with a focus on clear, impactful dialogue with stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills, capable of developing hypotheses and testing solutions

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Understanding of technical issues related to payment failures and troubleshooting processes
  • Testing experience, including UAT and system validation
  • Experience with a bachelor s degree in relevant fields or 8+ years of direct payment process experience in lieu of a degree

Candidate Profile

  • Should ideally have 2+ years in financial services with a focus on payments
  • Proven ability to manage end-to-end payment process analysis and reporting
  • Strong communication skills (rated 10/10 for importance)
  • No internships or junior roles; should have sufficient professional experience in payments or related financial services.
