Job Title: AWS/API/Python Engineer
Location: Charlotte, NC or Detroit, MI (Hybrid, 3 days per week)
Duration: 12 Months+ with Possible Extension
Years of Experience: 8+ Yrs.

Notes:
- Must be local to Charlotte, NC or Detroit, MI
- Mid-Senior API integration developer, with a focus on SOAP Web services (environment is SOAP-based, some REST is fine, but needs to have SOAP experience).

- Strong in Python, especially for data manipulation.
Job Overview:
- The end-client is seeking a hands-on and experienced AWS/API/Python Developer to support a large-scale ERP migration program transitioning from SAP to Workday's Finance module.
- This role is critical in building and maintaining integrations between various source systems and Workday, leveraging AWS services and Python-based solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust API integrations to support data flow into and out of Workday, primarily using SOAP APIs and Workday's report-as-a-service (RaaS) endpoints.
- Build and manage file-based integrations using AWS S3, Lambda, Step Functions, and Batch to support Workday's SFTP and MFT-based data exchange model.
- Develop Python scripts for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL), utilizing libraries such as pandas and working with dataframes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand integration requirements and deliver scalable, secure, and efficient solutions.
- Operate within an API orchestration layer that supports portability and reusability across systems.
- Ensure version control and CI/CD best practices using GitLab and DevSecOps principles (understanding required, hands-on not necessary).
Required Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services: S3, Lambda, Step Functions, Batch, Containers (e.g., ECS/Fargate).
- Proficiency in Python, especially for data manipulation using pandas and data frames.
- Solid experience in API development and integration, with a focus on SOAP and RESTful services.
- Familiarity with Workday's integration architecture and tools is a plus, but not required.
- Understanding of DevSecOps practices and GitLab-based version control workflows.
- Ability to work onsite and independently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ERP systems, especially in finance modules.
- Exposure to Workday's native integration tools and file-based data exchange processes.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
