The candidate will be supporting a WWT customer and will be employed by one of WWT s preferred partners. The partner will provide full compensation and benefit information prior to employment with the partner.

Rate/Salary: A reasonable estimate of the current pay range for this position is $50.00 to $55.00 hourly on W2 hourly. Actual pay will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs, and will be set by your employer. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in base pay.
Job Title: Network Engineer
Location: Onsite in Las Vegas, NV or Reno, NV
Duration: 12 Months
Position Overview:
- Experience with Cisco and Palo Alto technologies.
- Proficiency in configuring firewalls and switches.
- Administer and support next-generation firewall and security platforms such as Palo Alto Networks or F5, including configuration of security policies, access control lists (ACLs), and threat prevention mechanisms.
- Manage Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs), routing, and network segmentation across Cisco and Palo Alto platforms to ensure secure, efficient, and compliant communication between datacenters, enterprise systems, and field device networks.
- Monitor and maintain Wide Area Network (WAN) and Local Area Network (LAN) performance, ensuring redundancy, failover capability, and high availability for critical NMS functions.
- Implement and maintain Web Application Firewalls (WAF) and other perimeter defence systems to protect NMS applications from external threats and unauthorized access.
- Collaborate with the Telecommunications team to support and maintain communication channels with field devices such as Remote Terminal Units (RTUs), Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs), sensors, and behind-the-meter assets connected through the Distributed Energy Integration platform.
- Basic knowledge of cabling infrastructure and general networking.
- Understanding of routing protocols, primarily EIGRP and OSPF.
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter and onboard quickly with remote support.
