Senior Business Systems Analyst (Healthcare | Data Warehouse)

Location: Philadelphia, PA (Hybrid 3 days onsite) - Local or Near by candidate Only
Duration: 10 12 Months | Experience Level: 10+ Years

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) with strong experience in Data Warehouse, ETL, SQL, and Healthcare (Payer/Insurance) domains.
The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in translating business requirements into ETL/data warehouse specifications, writing complex SQL queries, and creating detailed mapping documentation for BI and analytics initiatives.

Core Skills

  • Data Warehouse / Business Intelligence (DW/BI)

  • Source-to-Target / Extract Mapping

  • SQL (Complex Query Writing & Analysis)

  • BigQuery (or other Cloud DW tools)

  • Healthcare / Payer / Insurance Domain Experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather and analyze business requirements to create BRD, FRD, and Data Mapping Documents.

  • Collaborate with data modelers and ETL developers to translate business needs into technical specifications.

  • Write and review complex SQL queries across multiple databases and schemas.

  • Perform data profiling, validation, and analysis for ETL design discussions.

  • Support data warehouse architecture and ETL development lifecycle.

  • Manage cross-functional projects and align deliverables with data governance and compliance standards.

  • Maintain strong documentation and adhere to project timelines and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 7 10+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or Data Warehouse Analyst.

  • Proven experience in Data Warehousing, ETL design, and SQL scripting.

  • Strong knowledge of Healthcare Payer/Insurance systems (Claims, Members, Providers, etc.).

  • Experience with BigQuery, Teradata, Snowflake, or other large-scale DW environments.

  • Hands-on experience with data profiling, mapping, and validation.

  • Strong understanding of BRD, FRD, and FSD creation processes.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Must be local to Philadelphia, PA and able to work onsite 3 days per week.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in Agile environments.

  • Exposure to Informatica, Talend, or SSIS ETL tools.

  • Knowledge of HIPAA, EDI transactions (837/835).
