Position Title: Senior Natural Developer

Location: Jackson, MS(Onsite)

Duration: Long term contract

Position Overview:

The Senior Natural/ADABAS Developer will join the development and support team responsible for supporting, enhancing, and maintaining the statewide SNAP/TANF Eligibility Determination System. Work includes implementing enhancements, integrating with other systems across platforms, and automating existing processes. On-call support is required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support, maintain, and enhance eligibility determination systems.
  • Perform programming in NATURAL and COBOL batch environments utilizing ADABAS in Linux.
  • Analyze, design, and develop large or complex projects on IBM Mainframe and Linux systems.
  • Troubleshoot complex SNAP and TANF eligibility determination processes.
  • Use Natural One IDE and MicroFocus COBOL for development and debugging.
  • Perform system integrations and process automation.
  • Participate in SDLC activities and project documentation.
  • Provide recommendations for system and process improvements.
  • Interpret, design, and implement federal and state mandates within Linux-based systems.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for procedures, policies, and processes.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of enterprise system programming experience using NATURAL and COBOL batch programming with ADABAS in a Linux environment.
  • 10+ years of experience troubleshooting complex SNAP and TANF eligibility determination systems in Linux using Natural One IDE and MicroFocus COBOL.
  • 6+ years of experience in the analysis, design, and programming of large or complex development projects on IBM Mainframe and Linux systems.
  • 6+ years of experience working with automated eligibility systems, including SNAP Eligibility, TANF Eligibility, SNAP E&T, Benefits, and Benefit Recovery.
  • Strong knowledge of SNAP and TANF eligibility, economic assistance policies, and state/federal mandates relevant to eligibility systems.
  • Experience interpreting, designing, and implementing federal and state mandates in Linux systems.
  • 6 years of experience developing, maintaining, and updating documentation for procedures, policies, and processes.
  • Proficiency with Windows operating systems.
  • Expertise in Mainframe environments.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on use of SDLC methodologies.
  • Advanced proficiency in NATURAL / Natural One.
  • Advanced proficiency in COBOL / Enterprise Developer.
  • Advanced proficiency with ADABAS.

  • Experience with SCRUM/Iteration methodologies.
