SAP FICO Consultant

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior SAP FICO Consultant with deep expertise in SAP Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO) modules, preferably with hands-on S/4HANA Finance implementation exposure. The ideal candidate will act as a strategic advisor to business stakeholders, drive complex solution design, and ensure seamless integration across SAP and non-SAP systems.

This role requires both technical depth and strong business acumen to lead end-to-end finance transformation initiatives for global clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of SAP FICO modules (GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, Banking, CO-PA, CO-PC, Internal Orders, Cost Centers, and Profit Centers).
• Drive blueprinting sessions with finance leadership to translate complex business requirements into scalable SAP solutions.
• Architect and implement S/4HANA Finance functionalities including Universal Journal, New Asset Accounting, and Central Finance (if applicable).
• Provide expert guidance on month-end and year-end closing, financial consolidation, and management reporting processes.
• Ensure seamless integration with SD, MM, PP, and HR modules, maintaining strong cross-functional alignment.
• Analyze and improve existing finance processes to enhance performance, compliance, and automation.
• Manage stakeholder relationships and act as the primary finance process SME (Subject Matter Expert) for project and support teams.
• Lead and mentor junior consultants, ensuring quality deliverables and adherence to SAP best practices.
• Prepare and present design documents, configuration rationale, and test strategy to business and IT leadership.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10 15+ years of proven hands-on experience in SAP FICO implementation and support.
• Strong S/4HANA Finance experience, including Central Finance, Universal Journal, and Fiori apps for Finance.
• Expertise in integration points with SD, MM, PP, and HR modules.
• In-depth knowledge of financial reporting, cost management, and controlling processes.
• Demonstrated experience in global rollout projects and multi-entity consolidations.
• Deep understanding of IFRS / GAAP, tax, and multi-currency accounting concepts.
• Proficiency in data migration (BAPIs, LSMW, BDCs) and reconciliation strategies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong customer-centric mindset.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP Certified Application Professional Financials in SAP S/4HANA or SAP Certified Application Associate Management Accounting / Financial Accounting.
• Experience with Central Finance, Group Reporting, or SAP BPC / SAC integration.
• Exposure to Fiori-based finance processes and automation tools (RPA, BlackLine, OpenText VIM, etc.).
• Prior experience in consulting environments (Big 4, Tier 1 integrators, or global SAP projects).
