Job Title: Tableau Developer – Pharma Domain
Experience: 7+ Years
Location: Parsippany, NJ
Work Model: Onsite (3 days per week in office)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Tableau Developer with strong exposure to the pharmaceutical domain to support data visualization, analytics, and reporting initiatives. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders to transform complex pharma data into meaningful insights that drive decision-making.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive Tableau dashboards and reports for pharmaceutical business use cases
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements across sales, marketing, supply chain, commercial, or operational pharma data
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity by working closely with data engineers and analysts
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to data quality, dashboard performance, and reporting accuracy
- Enhance and optimize existing Tableau dashboards for performance and usability
- Create technical design documents, test cases, and user guides
- Develop Tableau workbooks and Hyper extracts using Tableau Desktop
- Publish and manage workbooks and data sources on Tableau Server (Development & QA environments)
- Schedule and maintain extracts on Development and QA sites
- Perform unit testing and validation on QA and Development environments
- Address performance bottlenecks related to workbooks and data sources
- Use data governance tools to catalog metrics, dimensions, and business definitions
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in BI development and data visualization.
- Strong experience working in the pharmaceutical / life sciences domain
- Advanced proficiency in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server
- Excellent understanding of SQL and strong experience with relational databases
- Solid knowledge of data visualization best practices and dashboard design principles
- Familiarity with data warehouses and integration tools
- Experience working with large, complex datasets typical of pharma environments
- Understanding of pharma-related KPIs and reporting structures is a strong advantage
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field from a reputed institution
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with pharma KPIs such as sales performance, market access, patient analytics, or supply chain metrics
- Exposure to data warehouses and cloud platforms (Snowflake, Redshift, etc.)
- Knowledge of compliance standards relevant to pharma data (HIPAA, data privacy)
Work Environment
- Hybrid onsite model: 3 days per week in Parsippany office
- Collaborative, fast-paced environment working with cross-functional teams
